From Eddie Sterns last issue Namarupa. Ups and downs of sadhana nyaya: From a distance we see the mountain and from a distance it definitely looks like an “always up” journey. However, when actually ascending the mountain on foot, there are hidden valleys that you descend to before re-emerging to continue climbing up the other side. In the same way, the journey to liberation always looks like a straight line up, but in practice, we often feel like we are “going down” or “backwards.” This is normal and to be expected.
