From FunnyGooner, a bro on twitter (this was 20 straight tweets from him, so a solid 3 paragraphs): So sick of hearing people calling for Arsene Wengers head after each loss. In life and in football, its all about perspective. AW has been at Arsenal for almost 18 years. In those 18 years, hes always finished top 4, hence never missing CL spot. Lets talk about the last 8 years. Is it a coincidence it all started after Roman and Shiekh needed a hobby? No. In the last 8 years, Arsene has finished below four clubs only. Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and City. So if youre asking for Wengers head, youre basically asking new manager to finish above Chelsea and City. Now be rational and tell me, given the resources, who and where is that magician who can just take over Arsenal and finish over City and Chelsea whore, needless to say, way ahead of Arsenal in terms of financial ability. You can bring a hybrid of Pep and Klopp and yet theyll struggle. I, for one, cannot see a any manager do as good as Arsene Wenger, let alone better, considering all variables. Yes hes stubborn, yes he brings his subs late, yes he has a lousy zipper but is that a good enough reason to let go of a man like AW? Remember, Ozil came to Arsenal only because of AW, a new world class striker will come to Arsenal for the same reason too. Players respect, listen, look upto and want to win for him, a new manager with disrupt that, look whats happening at Man United. I cannot fathom Arsenal without Arsene Wenger, I seriously cant. Not because hes been there for almost all of my lifetime but because we wont find anyone who wants Arsenal football club to succeed more. Dont you see, he has put clubs success over personal glory. Next season, players are coming back from injuries, young players have gained enough experience, we have struck a massive deal with Puma (huge credit to AW again), we have the money to spend, if this season we challenged for the title up until March, imagine what we can do next season when were stronger on all fronts. Of course its not a guarantee, but I believe our best chance for silverware is through AW. Regardless if what happens this season, I think it would be foolish not to give AW at least two more years to finish what he started. Nobody deserves to win more than him, nobody. And when he does win, it wont just be a victory for Arsenal, but for football itself. I dont know about you, but I cant wait for that day to come. Tarera James economist
