From Greyhound to Me: Delayed Collection Dear Customer, Unfortunately, there will be a delay in collections in your area today due to a number of serious incidents where one our collection vehicles are being deliberately blocked by groups of protesters and picketers that are standing in the middle of the road and stopping us collecting your bins. This has been continuous over the past few weeks and has now escalated to the point where, this morning one of our Drivers was attacked and the crowd attempted to drag the driver from his vehicle and remove the keys from the vehicle ignition. This has been orchestrated by members of certain political organisations through social media under the banner of a peaceful protest. We condemn any such action and due to the concern for the safety of our collection crews we cannot collect your household waste safely at this time. This is illegal, violent and criminal behaviour and we will not risk anyone being hurt. We have a wider responsibility for the safety of our crews at this point. We have informed the local & national Gardaí and they will be dealing with this in an official capacity. We realise this delays your waste from being collected and we apologise for this inconvenience to you and your families. However, this is out of our control and in the hands of the political organisations and perpetrators involved. Please be patient, we will return to your area and we will collect your bins today The Greyhound Household Team.
