From Harolynne Bobis: Darren Wilson did NOT write up an incident report about shooting Michael Brown. And he, unlike just about any other suspect in American jurisprudence, will have the opportunity to testify at the Grand Jury proceeding investigating him. That is practically unheard of. And of course without an incident report - theres no evidence of anything he did or didnt do at the time. Or what Michael Brown did or didnt do. From Wilsons point of view. Which means: chances of Wilson being indicted suddenly falls off the map. There is no reason for him to testify - other than to plead to the Grand Jury that he was doing the right thing, rather than just presenting the facts and letting the Grand Jury evaluate. Meanwhile, more than $150,000 has been raised by supporters of Wilson; he is being touted as a hero by not just the KKK, but other right wing groups and individuals are pleased with what he did (one FB poster: choot, choot, choot!); right wing media is putting on an all-out PR campaign on his behalf. Right. And they wonder why the people in Ferguson are so angry. Martin Luther King, Jr: A riot is the language of the unheard. But its not time to lose a temper, its time to strategize, educate and enlighten. This is a national teaching opportunity, IMO.
