From ICAS yesterday. Im signed up and travel is booked. Who else is hitting Las Vegas in December? _____________________________________________ With so much uncertainty surrounding military participation in U.S. air shows in 2014, ICAS members have been understandably reluctant to make plans for the annual ICAS Convention, December 2-5 at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. But, with just six weeks to go until the air show community’s big annual event and the military participation issue resolved, it’s time to make plans. This year’s convention has been organized specifically to meet the demands of this very unusual season. Pre-registration discounts on convention registration are still available until October 31. To register for this year’s convention, click here. As mentioned in previous issues of Fast Facts, ICAS has renegotiated with the Paris Hotel to get an even better deal on hotel sleeping rooms during the convention. Those who register within the ICAS block (Group Code SPICS3) at $99 per night will avoid a new $20/night “resort fee” that all other hotel guests will be obligated to pay. ICAS Convention delegates registered in the ICAS block will also receive hotel sleeping room internet access at no charge, and discounted access to the gym facilities at $10 per person/per day. With the sequestration issue largely settled – at least for 2014 – ICAS will be finalizing and releasing details on the convention education program, which has been specifically tailored to the unique challenges of the 2013 and 2014 air show season.
