From Jacob Smith: Renee Miki was not only my love, my inspiration, but she was my best friend, strong and faithful until the end. I loved her deeply. So many of you have reached out to show support and offer words of encouragement, scripture, cooking meals, etc. I have been overwhelmed with the kindness and love from so many of you. It reminds me just how lucky I was to be her husband and friend as she meant so much to so many of you. I read every comment and text sent my way and even if I dont respond, please know that I truly appreciate all of you and am deeply touched. I believe Renee is looking down on us and smiling on all of you for your love and care for her family during this difficult time. It is a hard reality to face for our family but she was a great friend and sister to so many of you so we all mourn her loss and I too grieve for all of you who lost a beautiful friend in your lives as well. We all grieve, celebrate her life and honor her memory together. I know that many of you come from different faiths, backgrounds and beliefs. Please know I am touched by all of your thoughts and prayers. Please know that they have been heard by God. Renee is finally at peace and no longer has to suffer from this awful disease. She is free from pain. Also I truly believe that God has given me peace that surpasses all understanding as so many of you have prayed this for me. I began grieving a couple of weeks ago when I learned of her critical condition. But peace has come over me this day knowing that her suffering ends and her true life begins with her salvation. There will be days where my girls and I will ache and long for Renee to be here with us physically but all that she left behind were great memories and an amazing foundation of friends and family that we can cherish, cling to and depend on in times of need. Thank you all again for such outpouring of support. It means the world to me and my girls. Even if they are to small to fully understand it, I know they feel the love that surrounds them. It comforts me to know that as they grow older, they will be able to learn what a beautiful person and dedicated friend she truly was. This I pray, will be their inspiration to strive to be like her. A woman of faith. A faithful wife. A loving mother. A dedicated friend with a generous spirit. I just wanted to share my feelings with all of you and express my deep gratitude for you all.
