From June 16-20, the Carmelite Province of the Most Pure Heart of Mary will gather in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada for our 42nd Provincial Chapter. We meet for a time of fraternity and deepening of our Carmelite values as we guide our community for the next three years under the theme “I have called you into the land of Carmel” Jeremiah 2:7 The Chapter meeting will enable the men of the province to focus our thoughts around the areas of Carmelite spirituality and our history. In addition to a presentation on the early history of our province we will celebrate the life and legacy of St. Theresa of Avila on the 500th anniversary of her birth. We will also recognize the 80th anniversary of Blessed Titus Brandsma’s visit to Niagara Falls. It is an honor to be walking in the same halls as this great and holy Carmelite did before us. We pray that this chapter will be a source of prayer, tranquility and fraternity as we deepen our Carmelite spirituality. We also invite our many friends and benefactors to join us in prayer. A Prayer for the Provincial Chapter of the Most Pure Heart of Mary Loving God, in whose presence we stand. You have called us to live in the land of Carmel. We humbly pray, give us your wisdom and strength that we may always live a life of allegiance to Jesus Christ. Guide us as we celebrate our Provincial Chapter. Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us. Keep us ever faithful to you. so that, in many and various ways, we may serve your people always and everywhere. We make this prayer through the intercession of our Patroness and Mother, the Holy Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel and the Holy Prophet, Elijah. In Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen
