[From Justin...] An Update regarding the Lowe family! Joshua has continued to undergo several tests and some of these results we will not know for some time. The doctors have diagnosed Joshua with a genetic disorder called lissencephaly, which is where the cortex of the brain is smooth instead of wavy like a walnut. Three other brain abnormalities were also identified: two cysts at the front of the lateral ventricles, enlarged lateral ventricles with excess fluid and a thin cortex. Currently there is little to no medical treatment available for the combination of these four abnormalities. Mission Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staff has been outstanding in their care of each of us, during our time there. Our entire family was discharged Saturday at noon to return home. We are grateful for all of your prayers, messages, cards and support. God’s grace and the support of the Body of Christ have been essential along this difficult journey. Please continue to pray that God would be glorified in our lives, strength and wisdom as Joshua’s parents, and for a miracle of healing for Joshua. We continue to worship an Almighty and loving God!
