From Kelli Zoller Ely: Needing help. My daughter has now had the fifth Mic-Key gtube rupture since the first of this year. They are all rupturing in the same exact spot. I know that it is being inserted correctly and we used distilled water to fill the balloon. It isnt just parental error because one has busted that the doctor placed and one that the nurse placed, not just us. Her GI is the only one within 200 miles and he is absolutely no help. He will not help me investigate why his keeps happening. We tried the mini one button, but for whatever reason, they leaked horribly around the tube. We were loosing half of each feed. Can anyone help me brainstorm why this might keep happening? I need to be armed so I can take this to her doctor and really push the issue even harder. Has anyone ever had anything similar happen? I know that it is not a product error after this many issues. Please help!
