From Larry Siegle October 29 at 8:35pm · Never be fooled by those who say they love you but instead simply want to control and manipulate you with unreasonable demands and conditions. When love or friendship depends on losing yourself in the process it is better to just remain true to your beliefs and values. Those who withhold love are often hypocritical and are unwilling to compromise in order to maintain the friendship, or to at least honor and respect you enough to accept the need for boundaries. If we love people we will be kind and respectful toward them rather than issuing ultimatums and demands that MUST be met. If you CHANGE yourself simply for the sake of pleasing someone else, you often lose the self-respect that is necessary to do what it is that you are meant to BE and to DO.
