From Mens Team Manager Kai Brownhill: Glinton & Northborough Football Club v Thorney Res (Thorney withdraw) Glintons cup week began with a win without kicking a ball. The first of three cup games in seven days ended with a win before a ball had been kicked as Thorney could not raise a side. In truth, it was a relief as Glinton were down to a bear 13 players, having to take two players from the under 18s to fill the squad. This, coupled with AMVC not being fit to play on after Glinton played back to back games on it last Sunday, meant the fixture was switched to Peterborough Sports. The walk over means Glinton progress to the next round. On Tuesday, Glinton take on Cottesmore in the Ancaster cup (kick off 7.45pm) with some notable absentees. James Simpson, Scott Enderwick and Dan West are all unavailable through work; Luke Enderwick and Andy Twell are missing due to injury, Jamie West has family commitments. The club has received a seven day approach for Ian Webb from Peterborough Sports leaving 17 available players. However, due to Ancaster Cup rules a squad of 14 will be named for Tuesday.
