From Michelle.... Hi everyone. This Sunday our church - TopicsExpress

From Michelle.... Hi everyone. This Sunday our church celebrates All Souls Day. We remember those who have died before us and pray for them. We trust in God to welcome our loved ones into the company of all the saints, in other words into the company of all souls who have been welcomed into Gods holy presence. We all have loved ones who have gone before us. Our church teaches us that we can ask the saints (those we have known personally in our lives and those we learn about through Church history) to pray for us, to intercede, kind of like asking your grandma to pray for you. Of course she will! This weekend we will sing something new in our parish, a piece called Saints of God. It was neat to read the excerpts from the Book of Revelation that inspired this....excerpts that spoke of those who died for their faith and how in Johns vision they appeared in robes of white before Gods throne. How courageous these believers who went before us and those who still today endure so many trials for believing in Jesus, something we take for granted so often. The crux of our music this Sunday is tied up neatly in Matt Mahers Christ Is Risen which will end our Mass. Listen for the words O, death where is your sting? O, hell, where is your victory? in the readings this Sunday. I LOVE the line from the song...O Church, come stand in the light! The glory of God has defeated the night! We know that Jesus extends this defeat of the night to us and our faithful departed. Listen and enjoy. https://youtube/watch?v=IExdrZGQVeI Michelle
