From November 10, 2013 - Alex Niño is one of the few remaining illustrators from the Golden Age of Filipino Komiks. He moved to the USA in the 70s, and was known for his fantasy work in Sci-Fi magazines like 1984, illustrated a number of issues of The Savage Sword of Conan, and briefly worked on a Batman series. He also did the background art for the Disney animation Mulan (the Great Wall and the snow battle scene). He drew a fantasy art version of a Moro hunter off the top of his head. He didnt use any pencils to draw a rough outline. He just got a fine liner and went straight for it, giving it a grey wash, and added a few strokes with a Japanese brush pen. Pure improv!
