From Owl: We have a good life, here in our little house with our cats, out in the country just far enough to have relative peace and quiet but not so remote we are totally cut off from other people. Our land is just enough (about an acre) situated in such a way to afford us the luxury of only one close neighbor, across the road. We have a lovely meandering stream along the rear, that meets another stream and babbles along to the Clinch River about 1/4 of a mile down the road. We have a grape arbor, an apple tree, a fig bush/tree. There are river birch, weeping willows, lilacs, flowering dogwood, rose of sharon, poplar. There are turtles, skunks, raccoon, cats, snakes, salamander, minnows, all manner of birds, squirrel, deer, and more than likely coyote, fox and bear that frequent our space. One can sit in the yard and see dragonflies and butterflies. On a warm summer night there are incredibly beautiful moths to be seen, and the night twinkles with the mating dance of fireflies. We live in one of those places people would drive to to be able to get a good night sky for stargazing with a telescope. I too often allow myself to become distracted by the material and day to day stresses, and not appreciate the now, the moment. I like our life.
