From Parents and Educators Against Daniels and Bennett Educational Reform: OK! We are all pumped with the news of Tony Bennett’s demise! We’ve all done the “Happy Dance” to near exhaustion. We have clapped our hands and given “high fives” to everyone around us. Still, we feel the need to DO MORE! Commenting on this site, and others, is a great outlet for our excitement, but there is an even better one! Comment to THESE people: in.gov/cgi-bin/legislative/contact/contact.pl This is a complete listing of all Indiana legislators. Let THEM know what is on your mind! This is the most important thing you can do right now to: 1) keep the momentum to stop ed reform going; and, 2) help you to make a real difference. Some of you are struggling with crossing “Party Lines” in your determination to do what you know is right…support public education and destroy those who would turn our children into sources of revenue for those who seek to profit from their education. We all need to GET OVER IT because: 1. Indiana legislators, many of whom do not really agree with the ed reform movement, have voted along party lines. Where has that gotten us? 2. Many of us crossed party lines already. We supported Glenda Ritz. We need to honor our votes by continuing to support her. 3. Those of us who didn’t need to cross party lines to vote for Glenda, need to honor those who we were able to convince to do so. MOST IMPORTANTLY: We need to understand, and then MAKE our state lawmakers understand that THERE ARE NO PARTY LINES when it comes to the welfare of our children.
