When faced with temptation, trial or challenge, breathe out this prayer: Jesus, I can’t do this on my own. When you make this confession you tell the God of Creation what He already knows. But don’t just breathe out your weakness. Breathe in His strength: But, Jesus, I know You can…and You live in me. In this exchange you enter into what is true, that Jesus has already conquered whatever you are facing and He lives to conquer it in and through you. Walk in the freedom that has already been won for you in Him! Step in obedience knowing that He will supply the power you need. ***** Yesterday, I posted one of those little pictures with a saying on it. It was about learning to be quiet more often -- in other words and more plainly -- keeping my mouth shut when it should be! The above little devotional reminds me that I need to trust in and on God more often. Currently, I have a little thorn in my side (or maybe I should say a test) -- there is a person, in my daily life, that I love but that can also just drive me CRAZY on occasion. At times, I can ignore the craziness, and at other times, the bear is poked, and I start venting OUT LOUD. Wrong action! I am very thankful for sisters in my life that can call me out when I get frustrated and reel me back in, but like the passage above says -- ...when faced with trial or CHALLENGE, breathe OUT - breathe out the WEAKNESS...and breathe in HIS STRENGTH. Thats what I need to learn, and what you need to learn. I know it is very hard to remember these little quiet time devotionals when we are in the midst of a crazy person or a difficult situation, but lets make it our goal today and this week -- BREATHE OUT CRAZINESS... BREATHE IN HIS STRENGTH!
