From Pastor Chris: My sisters and brothers in Christ, While I was on vacation in California, a fellow Lutheran pastor challenged me over a cup of coffee to read the entire Bible in just three months. What?! I said, Thats insane. Thats not even possible. I have a day job you know. She looked at me with just a hint of a smile and said one word, Priorities. And thus the Holy Spirit planted this intriguing and, to be honest, somewhat dangerous idea into my head. Intriguing because Ive never tried something like this before and dangerous because spending that much time with the Living Word every single day is not something thats for the faint of heart. Lives get changed by this kind of thing. Attitudes change. Priorities change. Relationships change ... certainly with ones TV if nothing else. And so, I would like to extend an invitation to you to join with me on a holy pilgrimage this summer: to read the entire Bible in 90 days starting on June 8th (Pentecost Sunday) and ending on Friday, September 5th, which is the Friday before our second annual partnership with the ELCAs Gods Work Our Hands event. As part of this challenge, I invite you also to take part in weekly, guided support groups during this pilgrimage, so that we can lift one another up, hold ourselves accountable to the task, and share with one another how this journey is effecting us. An organizational meeting will be held at 11:15 am on Sunday, June 1st in the sanctuary following worship for those who are interested in taking part. Please let the church office know ahead of time if you plan on attending. ~ Pastor Chris
