From Pastor Sidney: This week Pastor Charley urged each of us to do for someone what you would like to do for everyone. Use whatever talent or gift God gives you and He will multiply the effect. To that end, I want to share this story of a woman in Ukraine, an artist who didnt know what talent she had. Her parents told her to get a real job, but her husband urged her on- she started experimenting with sand. The couple was nearly penniless and he sold possessions to buy several pounds of fine volcanic sand-she began experimenting at night after the family went to bed. She said one night, it just came to her how to use the sand to tell a story. She went on Ukraines Got Talent and told the story of Germany conquering Ukraine in the second world war. In the performance, she brings calm, then conflict. A couple on a bench become a woman’s face; a peaceful walkway becomes a conflagration; a weeping widow morphs into an obelisk for an unknown soldier.
