From "Some Men Die Alone" Story No. 3 By Herm Sherwood-Sitts When hunting a serial killer, everyone is a suspect, from the local lawman working beside you, to the old lady crossing the street. Mind you, this took place long before DNA testing, store surveillance or computer networks. This is when a detective had to use his training and gut instincts to solve a crime. I am FBI agent Mathew Santana. This is the story of the Black Swamp Slayings, which took place deep in the wetlands of southern Louisiana. It was my first solo assignment and I remember it like it was yesterday.
