From TRYBOOKING.COM - The Sweeper - not long after they finished yesterday ... --- At this morning Sched we knew that we had little chance of overtaking Red October. We settled in to just cranking out the miles, already predicting a Sunday morning finish. We had Xmas in July tonight. Brandy Alexanders were made and consumed in rolling conditions, and the most difficult job in the entire trip appeared to be staging the photo. Attempt 10 or 12, it became hard to remember, produced something, so there will be a photo soon. Teddy Gasbear also was involved with hat and all, sharing his experience with Santa. Dinner was amazing. 6 homemade pizzas including one in the sharp of Efata (the island of port villa). The bottoms were thin and crisp and the taste amazing. I am sure the red wine helped this. We arrived at approx 08:32 Australian Eastern time. A wonderful reception as we were trumpeted into our pen. As much as this story has entertain us for 8 days we have little doubt that Escapade are completely oblivious to our antics, although we have been in close contact with Escapade, and although this might have been unexpected by most, trybooking has been skippered exceptional well by Grant Dunoon, her owner skipper. The old salts might have arrived before the Sweeper this time, but victory for all boats lays not in their finishing positions, but being in the position of finishing. This boat has taken us more than 2000nm, and the experiences I have gained from this trip will live and form my future boating opportunities. Thanks to ORCV, thanks to the other teams, thank you Stuart, Louise and Peter, thanks Grant, and most of all thanks to the sweeper trybooking. Duane
