From The Courier-Journal | courier-journal: Scrapple is a cold meat loaf held together with grain, then cut into slices and fried until it has a golden crust all around. Bound with corn meal, bits of meat and seasonings, scrapple is an East Coast favorite, a Pennsylvania Dutch heritage recipe still popular in places like Philadelphia. Created by early American settlers, the colonists called it pon haus.
