From The Goshen News Sports Section on May 6, 1992: **Goshen, New Paris and Jimtown were winners in the Old Timers basketball sectional at Concords McCuen Gym. Goshen socked Bristol, 51-24, as Bob Cross scored 26 points, John Sorg 10, Tom Kintigh 8, Rex Lehman 5 and Darwin Hoogenboom 2. New Paris was a 39-33 winner over Concord with Don Ypder scoring 14 points, Mike Wilhelm 7 and Chuck Stille 6 for the Cubs. Jimtown nipped Elkhart, 52-50, on a last-second shot by Bruce Clark. Dick Rice netted 11 points for the Jimmies and Mike Franger 12 for Elkhart. **Kathy Mast, Dawn Reed and Andrea Filbrun were singles winners as Fairfields tennis ladies blanked Prairie Heights, 5-0. **Aaron Apple, Bryan Lerg, Shane Heeter, Jason Hofer and Josh Nice had big hits as the As won a major baseball game at Goshen Little League. **Eighth grader Nate Andrews, 7th graders Wes Dodson and Mike Hochstetler led Nappanee track teams to wins over Heritage. **Jon Everinghams 44 led Goshens golfers over Glenn and Argos at Sprig-O-Mint in Bremen. Scott Miller had a 45 and Matt Couch 47. **Goshen Youth Soccer standouts at Goshen College were Peter Widmer, Travis Stewart, Erik Wolfe, Chad Weaver and Jeremy Stutzman. **Northridge topped West Noble, 172-187, in boys golf at Maxwelton. Mike Miller led the Raiders with a 38 and Tim Smoots led WN with 39. **The Cubs edged Atlanta, 4-3, at Wrigley on a 10th-inning sacrifice fly by Ray Sanchez. Chuck McElroy was the winning pitcher in relief. **George Bell ripped a grand slam in the first inning as the Sox ripped Milwaukee, 12-2, at Comiskey. Jack McDowell notched his 6th win.
