Demonstrate a working knowledge of the administrative systems required to administer a Sport or Fitness Organisation. 2. Supervise the system of documents, records and transactions for a sport or fitness organisation. 3. Apply sound business principles in a Sport or Fitness Organisation. 4. Apply financial best practices in a Sport or Fitness Organisation. 5. Conduct a formal meeting. 6. Draft and present a constitution for a club. 7. Identify the roles and functions of office bearers in a Sport or Fitness Organisation. SYNOPSIS OF TRAINING PROGRAMME CONTENT Section 1 2 Local, provincial and national structures are identified which are responsible for Sport or Fitness participation in South Africa. A relevant network is established at the local and provincial level that will enhance the governance of the organisation. A list of applicable national structures are identified and communicated with on relevant issues pertaining to governance issues in sport or fitness. Section 2 An administrative system is established and implemented for the organisation. This would include hard copy filing in a cabinet system and / or computer filing system. Different document types are defined and guidelines are provided for the appropriate storage requirements. A database is established to record transactions. Documents are filed and managed in a manner appropriate to the document type. Section 3 The importance of a club or group having a vision, mission, goals and objectives is explained with respect to implementing sound business principles. The strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats are identified as they apply to a Sport or Fitness Organisation. A plan of action is put in place to ensure an effective performance measurement system and to work towards the development of a strategic plan. Section 4 The best accounting requirements are described for a Sport or Fitness Organisation. The use of various financial documents are identified and explained with respect to various business documents. This would include documentation such as invoice, receipt, statement, cheque, petty cash book. The ability to manage cash is demonstrated, including methods for sorting, counting and banking money. A realistic budget is created for a Sport or Fitness Organisation. Section 5 Preparations are made for a meeting by identifying role players, creating an agenda and issuing the relevant notifications. 3 Correct meeting procedures and protocols are utilised in meetings of the organisation. Written minutes of the meeting are produced as part of the follow up action. Section 6 The aim and purpose of a constitution is explained in relation to the club`s activities.
