From a Dr on his way to Yantalo in DEC >> So why Yantalo? I have never been to South America and have never practised/observed healthcare in a Spanish speaking country! I also have never learned spanish and heard that your clinic has good provision for translators. My father visited Peru in the late 1980s and repeats his wonderful stories from his visit every christmas, I figured it was time I travelled there myself! Your clinic has come very highly reccomended on the AidWork opportunities database set up by the American Academy of Paedatrics and that is how I found out about what you do. I believe in the importance of linking health and education and thoroughly enjoy teaching and training. I also believe in the importance of sustainability and environmental awareness in practising healthcare, having personally seen many clinics that could not sustain their desired level of practice due to poor strategic planning.
