From a concerned citizen: Humphrey Mwansa Sep 8th, 1:47am ZANACO 1-0 Kabwe Warriors(Abandoned) I will write what I saw. First and foremost, I want to say I really feel sorry for Kabwe Warriors who have made a remarkable climb up the ladder with new coach Muhammed Fathy. It was just last week that I was reading about Kabwe Warriorss week 22 match against Nkana being abandoned after fans protested to a Warriors goal that was disallowed. The moment I arrived in Lusaka from the copperbelt on Sunday, I went to Sunset Stadium to watch the game as the Log Leaders Zanaco locked horns with Kabwe Warriors. An interesting game it was but sad and disappointing ending. After a goaless first half, the second half saw Zanaco scoring a goal that sent the home crowd in a frenzy who in their minds knew how vital the 3 points were with ZESCO united and Power Dynamos at their tail. Kabwe Warriors then stepped on the peddle and pushed Zanaco to the wire is they kept knocking for an equalizer. It was in the dying minutes that Kabwe Warriors were awarded a freekick meters away from the 18 yard area and what a brilliant goal it was. Before the celebrating fans realized it, The goal was disallowed for offside. What I dont understand is how a ball shot from a freekick goes straight in the net without hitting anybody becomes an offside. This is the time I witnessed running battles between the police and the fans and some of us suffered the strength of a teargas. I am not supporting the behavior of the fans but I dont know how best the fans could have reacted to such a harsh decision from the referee when it really mattered for the Railway boys. My TAKE: That was a wrong call from the referee and this might affect in form Warriorss last 7 games. They have fought so hard to be where they are. We will just wait for action and decision from the Football Association of Zambia. Note: Am not a Kabwe Warriors fan.
