From a different post and thread: Dzogchen is for everyone! Most Westerners will never come to Dzogchen through your (traditional Tibetan Buddhist gradual) path. It wont happen because of cultural differences and lack of interest to follow the traditional Tibetan road map. This is why Dzogchen has immediate relevance for the West. Its a system that can be introduced to a seeker free of all the traditional Vajrayana requirements. It can be taught completely independent of Tibetan Buddhism and will be. Many masters have said that the unique vehicle of Dzogchen is meant for the West in these degenerate times because of its universality and simplicity. Every human can benefit immediately from Dzogchen teachings without first learning one thing regarding Buddhism, Tibetan Buddhism or meditation. Dzogchen is for everyone!
