From a fan.. I would like you to post this for me to see what others think... I have been doing this for a number of years in a major city on nights and never have I had this happened ever. I have been an EMT for 10 years 8 in a major city.. Please keep me Anonymous.. To my fellow night shifters. What would you do.. we got dispatched to a non-violent EDP, got on scene to find pt in back of police car. Per the police pt was acting strange when they got on scene but is now cooperative and is willingly going to the er for evaluation of non compliance with her meds. Police would not get into detail why they were there. Pt has a known psych hx. Ambulated to ambulance without any issues. Then out of know where the pt becomes aggravated with us for no reason. I stopped questioning her and left it at that. She appeared to be on something i am thinking PCP, her quick changing in status from being calm to very combative is the reason for thinking PCP. When we arrived at the hospital she gave us a lot of crap and ended up assaulting my partner and I and left marks on both. This person is seriously sick and needs help. question is knowing how sick she is and that she is off her meds as well as maybe on something would any of you press charges? OR would you shrug it off? EMT of 8 years major city but never had a pt hit me like this.. Thanks
