From a friend..... There are 32 aerial spraying (crops, mosquitos) in the state. MANY are in your area. Federal law states that public notice of all spraying events is mandatory. I found out, they are not. FAA is NOT inspecting them for compliance to this standard. Wouldnt you like to know what is being sprayed overhead, when it is sprayed and what it is? They are spraying substances where the MSDS says Hazardous and use NIOSH N 95 mask and NO public notification! The law says you have that right to know. But Florida operators are ignoring the law. I am fighting it through internal affairs in the FAA. Splain to me why your inspectors are NOT doing their jobs and NOT citing for non-compliance of this standard. What are they spraying on these crops? Public notification is MANDATORY by law in floridapublicnotices by federal and state laws. In this county, there were 1.6 million acres sprayed with hazardous substances in 2013. And not one public (mandatory)notification. That was just ONE program. You have 10 programs near you.
