From a group of fighters in the front line who have no fear: We are not afraid to sacrifice. We just hope more citizens would advance further. Looking back at the violent stand-off when protesters surrounded government headquarters on December 2, there was always strength in numbers. But the number of protesters who were defending the front line was limited, as most of the citizens were in the background. The defense line collapsed rapidly because protesters in the front line were either injured or arrested and no one was there to take their place. Some people think we are extremists. Actually the reason we are willing to risk arrests and injuries is to protect the citizens behind us. Regardless of how we look, what we wear and what language we speak, as long as we are all here for the same cause, I hope people wont put a label on us. It is totally understandable if you cant afford to get arrested or injured. But I wish you could stand behind us, hold on to us tightly, carry us away when we get injured, so that we can go to the front line once again after receiving immediate medical attention. Although we cannot represent all of the protesters in the front line, we all share the same wish. What we desire to hear when we stand in the forefront is vocal support with enthusiasm, rather than accusations or provocations by the police in the front line. We are not leftist trash. Many protesters who had been defending the front line know that a lot of unnecessary conflicts were triggered by citizens provoking the police, causing the police to attack us. Injuries are not our burden. We are willing to stand tall and fight for our beliefs. Never back down. Many protesters who were defending the front line were seriously injured or arrested and eventually withdrawing from the front line for various reasons.
