From a total of 670,741, it is wrong to argue that the minority rules the majority. BDP is the majority. (a) BDP - 46.7% (b) UDC - 30.1% (c) BCP - 20.4% (d) Independent- 2.7% Under our current electoral system, the BDP at 320,665 is the majority ahead of UDC at 206,969, BCP 140,404 and Independent Candidate (18,703). Remember these were 4 contenders but not two political parties. Hence their sum percentage cannot be used to argue the opposition was the majority. If we want to change the electoral system that am fine with, but to use an approach of one system to analyse the outcome of a different one I see it as being unjust to the truth.
