From as far back as I can remember, I was enthralled with his sheer ability to bring out the very best in a choir, he stood tall and his roller set was ALWAYS tight, so he was probably my first crush.. I mean who didnt crush on the choir director right? He had a bit of a James Brown on the 1 rhythm, but it somehow always seemed to sync up with the CLASSIC gospel piano chords of Billy Robinson, they were a team. He showed a respect towards my Aunt Lethia that made me know he was sincere about his ministry, he served at her pleasure and when she wanted to flip the script, he simply said yes Maam, Oh and did I mention that he could BLOW?? He was not the typical preachers kid though.. One day, a few years back, he saw me when I was in town, and he told me he was a Jacki fan…He began to tell me how he admired my singing and directing.. WHAT??? I was so humbled by his comments because he was one of THE BEST. Thomas Hubbard, take your rest, and we will see you in the morning..I am guessing you, and Billy are CLOWNING right about now….#tears of joy as I type this.. Pleasant Grove Baptist Church was blessed to have you at the helm. If you werent there circa 1960s-1980s YOU HAVE NO IDEA... Brandon Harvell, You already know.. I love you man..
