From college classroom to boardroom Establishing itself as the major strength of Apex College, Apex Career Services (ACS) has been offering various services to both undergraduate and graduate students to help them amplify their skills and build the attitude needed for career advancement. With a number of activities including career counselling, employer presentation and job placement, ACS has been successful to provide solutions to career related problems. Recently, ACS held a week-long workshop on ‘College to Corporate’ from August 11 to 18, for graduating MBA students. Organised in association with meroJob, the event featured trainings, grooming sessions, presentations, interactions and experts’ advice. The final day — where students made presentations before their prospective employers — was marked as the ‘Placement Day’. The first day of the workshop was grooming session by Rachana Gurung Sharma who gave trainings on business etiquette including importance of effective personality, professional dress up, techniques to get attention in job interview and present oneself professionally in the corporate world. That was followed by a training on resume and cover letter writing, interview skills including linguistic programming on second and the third day of the workshop. Likewise, work experience sharing and interaction session by Amun Thapa, Marketing Director of Sasto Deal, was the attraction of the fourth day. The Principal of Apex College, LP Bhanu Sharma, was present on Emotional Intelligence event on the fifth day to ignite and inspire the participants. Students interacted with HR professionals from different companies on the next day themed ‘Job Kurakani’. During the ‘Placement Day’, they participated in group discussions, real job interview with Surya Nepal and Hire Me session — each attendee made a presentation which was followed by feedback and discussion. — Sudikcha Koirala, MBA VIth Trimester, Apex College
