From interview with filmmaker activist Kamanaka Hitomi: My film - TopicsExpress

From interview with filmmaker activist Kamanaka Hitomi: My film is almost complete, so I’ve had several screenings—for my staff and some outside people. Afterwards, they said, “Only women! Where are the fathers? Where are the men? You cut away the men. Did you cut away men?” It wasn’t my intention, but it did happen; I focused on this issue, and only women appeared. Women whove survived girlhood in a male supremacist world are women of power, women of leadership, women of solidarity. Deep Green Resistance pays homage to the mothers of resistance! We aim to amplify the voices of women within our organization, because women are oppressed as a class. We especially wish to increase the volume on women who are multiply oppressed due to race, age, physical ability, etc. We do this collectively via our Caucuses and Committees. deepgreenresistance.org kyotojournal.org/the-journal/in-translation/kj-81-preview-filmmaker-and-activist-kamanaka-hitomi/
