From meeting on Tuesday: - We discussed how it will probably be easier if we focus our research a bit more. Instead of looking at FGM in Africa in general, we could perhaps focus in on a particular country, in this case Somalia, as it has an extremely high occurence of FGM and there are no official laws against FGM which will be good for our discussion about possible solutions. Essay Outline Introduction -everyone contributes a sentence of two about your specific topic which we will then put together to sound great (we will wait to do this until after the body paragraphs so we actually know what to say) Body Paragraphs - General info (Marnie) - Culture and Religion (Brooke Gooding) - National/African Laws (Me/Indi) - International Laws (other Brooke) - Possible Solutions (Jess + suggestions from other group members) We also discussed on tuesday that we may need to include some possible disadvantages of these solutions, but then explain why they will still be effective etc. if that makes sense - Try to keep your paragraph roughly 300 words so we dont go too far over the word limit and have to cut lots down Conclusion - Everyone contributes summary sentences for their specific topic like we will do for the introduction By our meeting next week: - Try to have most of your research finished - Start dot points of what you might write in your specific paragraph
