Now the word mandate is a huge word in politics it attempts to put pressure opposition parties to support governmental policy now Abbott has been quick o use this. Now what mandate Abbott has is a significant however a full mandate is when a party is given control of the House of Representatives and the Senate other times the mandate is limited. Now Abbott will be able to repeal the Carbon Tax with the alleged Senate that is going to take office so he will get his mandate now should Labor and the Greens accept it the answer is no chance. I believe parties have a mandate to implement the polices that they proposed in election time and the Coalition hardly released its polices so they have no mandate to make significant policy changers. Now how to solve a problem like Labor now wether Rudd should resign or not I do not think Craig Emerson is correct when he accuses Rudd of wanting the leadership again. Now I think only Tanya Plibersek is the best option long term however if I were her now is not the time oppositions leaders who come in after a loss struggle so wether it be Albanese or Shorten they will not contest the 2016 election. The position for Labor is simple they have to wipe out the Gillard/Rudd period and I think Shorten is the worst option. The recent Labor reforms I think are the best way forward for Labor a sitting Prime Minister should not be kicked out only if the leader has acted in a disgraceful manner.
