From my blog: (Someone comments that Benny Hinn has "good fruit" and therefore is from God) Steve, you are defining “fruit” solely in terms of miracles, healing and supernatural experiences. When Jesus said “you will know them by their fruits” He obviously does not define “fruit” the way you do, for He repeatedly warned that false prophets will do great signs and wonders in His name, the name of Jesus, and draw many after themselves, yet this itself does not constitute good fruit. People claim to experience the presence of God in every conceivable cult there is. Catholics keep going back to their temples bcos they believe they feel the presence of God there. No doubt they feel something. The Word of God will be the judge and the determiner of which spirit it is they are feeling. You mentioned Benny Hinn, so here’s just one example of his bad fruit: Backstage at his crusades his staff screen all people who are coming forward for healing. With wheelchair cases they test the patient first as to whether they are able to, in fact, stand up from the chair and only these are brought onto the stage. If the patient is not able to stand they are never allowed to proceed onto the stage and receive prayer. So what is presented to the audience is actually a fraud and a scam. This is a well-documented fact, it is not a rumor. So now the issue becomes how YOU will judge Jesus Christ. Only a fraud will do as Benny Hinn does. So, does Jesus turn a blind-eye to that? Does Jesus say, well, it’s not good, but he has good fruit, he gets results! That would be an imaginary Jesus, one who does not exist. To say that is Jesus of Nazareth would be to mock Him and make Him to be a joke. False prophets come in Jesus name, but the “Jesus” they represent does not actually exist, it is “another Jesus”, as Paul said. And that’s only one example, time restrains me from going thru a whole list of abominations and errors. ianvincent.wordpress/2008/05/11/presumptuous-self-willed-christian-occultists-leading-the-charismatic-movement-3/#comment-38558
