From my friend Bill Holdship: was very saddened this morning to read of the passing of my Facebook friend, Rick Stone. A wonderful keeper of the flame, Rick was the road manager/roadie for the Bobby Fuller Four, from El Paso to the ultimately tragic Hollywood days, and was sometimes credited as being Bobbys best friend. His mother, Mary, co-wrote some songs with Fuller, including the gem below. (I remember how miffed Rick was when Zimmy nicked the guitar line from this tune for his own Soon After Midnight...I tried to reason that Dylan was just paying tribute...but Rick wasnt having it, lol. Coincidentally, it appears that Rick died on his moms birthday.)
