From night Mother star and director Felicity Enas: For those who have known me for a number of years may ask how could commit to performing a play that deals with a subject that was a big part of my life for 16 years. Our son, Sam was diagnosed with a seizure disorder at 9 years old and for 16 years we tried most treatments, medical and non medical to stop the seizures. In the play, night, mother, Mama describes a seizure to her daughter Jessie - it is all very real - I assisted Sam through many of his. But there is dialog that I disagree with. Jessie says Epilepsy wont kill me. They can. As a mother of a child with epilepsy I needed to learn all that I could about the disorder. I researched and talked to medical professionals and parents experiencing the disorder ...a lot. I was never aware, until after Sam died, of the anagram SUDEPS. Sudden unexpected death in Epilepsy.
