From one of our community partners: Athens Avalon Greenspace. Hi Everyone, I want to send this email to you all to remind you of how much was accomplished for the greenspace this past year. Thanks to our energetic fundraising group, we were able to attend both the Excelsior Fair and Jerry Day to get out the word about our work on the hillside and do some fundraising as well. We had another successful sidewalk sale which is likely to become an annual event. We have received numerous individual donations as well. Our fundraising group has great plans for some events this year which you will be hearing about soon. All funds raised allow us to continue purchasing plants for the hillside garden. It is possible to donate both through our website athensavalongreenspace.org or the SF Parks Alliance website sfparksalliance.org. In addition to raising funds we installed the stone patio on the hill and were able to do our first planting in December after DPW and PUC completed the installation of our water source. All friends and neighbors are welcome to come out to any and every workday to check in on progress, ask questions, and of course make donations for future plant purchases.
