From starvation to safety! If you were following the story of the emus being abandoned to starve to death here is the latest photos on their rescue and care. Remember USD tax deductions to help them can kindly be sent through helpanimalsindia.org/donate or if you cannot benefit from that please send to vspca.org/donate. Thank you for your compassion! After battling for three weeks against hunger, malnourishment, dehydration, illegal slaughter and deformities due to faulty incubation machine and left to perish under the sweltering heat and humidity, we worked hard to save as many as possible and top priority to the ones that are responding. They have been shifted to our New Kindness Farm in a makeshift place to be finally moved to more spacious, under fully grown mango trees where works are going on in a new acquired land to build the basic structures. We took the first opportunity to shift in the late evening once the vet certified fit for travel because the original place where they were born and bred for meat and oil was not safe and unhygienic conditions. These are very young and weak at the moment and we hope will save more and start shifting to this place. There are 223 at the moment . The bigger challenge is to continue to look after them during this first very crucial time and then to look after them life long. We thank all for your support but the battle is not over~ this is an ongoing tragedy in India mag.audubon.org/articles/birds/emu-has-landed-india please support our efforts!
