From the Aiken Standard online, July 3, 2013 Darley Stable’s Make Your Move to make stakes debut by Ben Baugh Darley Stable’s Make Your Move makes his stakes debut in Saturday’s 96th edition of the Grade 2 Dwyer Stakes at Belmont Park. The bay gelding is by the 2006 Eclipse Award winning 3-year-old male, Bernardini, and has three victories including a win in his last start, a 1 1/2-length score in a 7-furlong contest at Belmont Park on May 30. Make Your Move was broken and trained in Aiken by Tim Jones. The 3-year-old colt’s wins have all come during his sophomore campaign, and the Kiaran McLaughlin charge turned in a bullet work at the Greentree Training Center at Saratoga, breezing a half-mile in 49 seconds on June 28. Make Your Move broke his maiden this winter at Gulfstream Park, winning a 1 1/16-mile race that had originally been carded for the turf and moved to the main track, by 5 3/4-lengths over a sloppy surface. The bay gelding is a half-brother to graded stakes placed Freyga and to stakes placed Sooner Superstar. Make Your Move has drawn post position no. 5 in the six horse field and is 10/1 on the morning line. Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. will have the call for the first time on the 3-time winner for the 1 1/16-mile race. Make Your Move has 3 wins from 8 starts, and has bankrolled $89,974.
