From the American Massage Therapy Association Convention 2014 in beautiful Denver, Colorado: What a day! Dr. Oz was the keynote speaker and gave an amazing talk to attending massage therapists from all over the country. Dr. Oz is a very personable, dynamic, intelligent, and entertaining character and medical doctor. He shared lots of interesting information, quotes, and research regarding living a life of health and vitality and the benefits of massage as integral part of health and wellness. (He is singing our song!) Dr. Oz is an avowed advocate for massage as a therapeutic modality which supports health and well-being, far beyond pampering. He said, Massage therapy has a place at the healthcare table. (Amen!) Dr. Oz believes massage therapy should not only be in studios, spas, and clinics, but in hospitals as well, working in tandem with traditional medicine. He shared statistics which demonstrated definitive positive changes in patients who received massage post-surgery versus those who did not. And he ended by pledging to use his national platform to support massage therapy as a viable healthcare option and urged massage practitioners and researchers to continue to advance clinical studies to support these health claims we already know to be true. -- We need ammunition to gain support and professional recognition in the healthcare industry. He is right. Bless his lil old heart, he has a fan in My Aiken Body!
