From the Cat Country Newsroom: bit.ly/1vyVB3N The Town of Springhill is trending towards a deficit of more than $500,000 by the end of the fiscal year. During a council meeting last week, interim CAO Reg Ridgley said the town was dealing with a $1.12-million deficit as of Mar. 31, 2014. He said that was paid down to under $500,000, but another deficit of $600,000 has brought that total back up to more than $1-million. Ridgley said the town will likely be looking at a $600,000 deficit at the end of the fiscal year in Mar. 2015, but that could increase if the town receives a lot of snow this winter. He said the town has only been in the black once in the past 15 years.
