From the Desk of Susan Kone URGENT REQUEST - PLEASE VOTE AND HELP GET OUT THE VOTE Dear Friends, , America is at a defining moment … We are in danger of losing our “shining city on a hill” Our freedom is threatened at home by an over-intrusive government and abroad by the appeasement and emboldening of those seeking our destruction. We have temporarily abandoned our noble commitment to freedom, justice and civility; to the value of every human life and the dignity of every human being. As we enter the midterm elections today we must reject an Administration that legitimizes, rewards and emboldens tyranny while turning a blind eye to human rights abuse, terrorism and genocide. We must reject this Administration with the very strength and moral clarity which it so desperately lacks. We must reject those who have followed blindly -- those who have remained deafeningly silent - those who put their loyalty to party over loyalty to country. For the sake of our beloved America -- for the sake of freedom-seeking people around the globe -- for the sake of our children and their children - We must run - not walk to the polls today -- and we must carry every person of goodwill along with us. With freedom comes responsibility. If we are to remain the land of the free - we must also be the home of the brave. Each of us must muster the courage to pursue truth; to stand strong for what is good and for what is right -- and to demand nothing less of those who represent us in government. I am so proud, so privileged and so blessed to call myself an American. Many say our best years are behind us -- but I believe in my heart our best years are yet to come. We have veered very far off course -- but this is a storm we can and must weather. In the past we have made mistakes - but we learned from them -- and we have emerged together -- stronger, wiser and better. During these challenging times, we must never lose faith in ourselves, in our great nation, and in the goodness and potential of humanity. We must gain inspiration from our founders fathers who believed in the value of each of us -- and from so many who have sacrificed so much to preserve, protect and defend the way of life we cherish. In its short history -- the noble experiment called America has produced one of the most prosperous and generous nation states in human history and the leader of the free world. Our greatest asset has always been the innovation and ingenuity of our people. Our greatest weapon has always been our indomitable spirit. Bound by our love of liberty, our sense of decency and compassion and our common dream -- there is no goal we cannot accomplish; no challenge we cannot overcome; no enemy - foreign or domestic - we cannot defeat -- we are America.
