From the Desk of the Principal. ] ,kjumuyu7jCan you believe it – August begins tomorrow!!! The summer is going by very quickly, but we are getting a lot done at school. The progress on the “new” bathrooms is going well. We have the new stalls on the basement and 1st floors. The 2nd floor girls is nearly finished. This weekend we will work again on Saturday, August 3 – — we hope to complete the 2nd floor bathrooms and begin the 3rd floor bathrooms. We owe so much gratitude to the following men who have given of their time all these weekends: Lou Durocher (my husband), Rob Durocher (my step-son), Mr. DeFrancesco, Mr. McErlean, Mr. John Fernandez, Mr. Gonzalez, Christian Dansbach, Mr. Khin, Mr. Cortellino, The following dates will hopefully be the completion of this project:Saturday, August 3Saturday August 10 Saturdays – August 17 and 24th will be to install the sinks, faucets and toilet seats. It is my hope to be able to take the last week of August off – for a little “rest” before school starts. I know you will be happy when you see the completed bathrooms and the cafeteria. It has been hard work, but a lot of fun. Thank you so much. Just a reminder — my letter and the calendar will be mailed out to you very soon. School begins for Grades 1-8 on September 5. The first two days, Sept. 5 and 6th, will be half days with dismissal at 12:10. We have 4 new teachers: PreK 4 — Dana Prior ( Sr. Lena retired) Grade 2A — Caitlyn Candido Sekel ( Mrs.McGill retired) Grade 4B- Marilyn Canal Spanish — Mrs. Isabel Guerra Class lists have not been completed yet — we are still registering new students. We presently have 316 students registers — I want a few more. I know that many of you, both parent and student may be a little nervous about beginning a new year. Every student will experience “newness” — A new teacher, some new students – new classrooms and schedules — There is a lot of “unknowns” that can cause nervousness. Please don’t be nervous or worried. Although every teacher is different, everyone is truly dedicated to Catholic Education. I am a very visible principal. I walk the hallways on every floor — every day. I am well aware of what goes on in each classroom and I am a good listener when you have concerns. Always address your classroom concerns to the teacher first before coming to me. Most of the time the concern can be addressed with the classroom teacher. I want to begin this year with positive, happy , energetic thoughts and actions. If we all do the same it will be a positive year. I want you and your child/children to be happy. That is my goal. Together we have a wonderful school family here — I rejoice and thank God for that every day. See you soon. Linda Durocher bit.ly/14Dg1dJ
