From the Kentucky Humane Society: Can you believe Baby has been at the Kentucky Humane Society since early August? Baby is a sweet, playful pit bull terrier mix who happens to be deaf; but she follows hand signals and loves to learn new commands. Poor Baby is starting to lose hope shell ever find a home of her own. For some potential adopters, her breed is a strike against her. For others, her health issues - ear infections, deafness - seem too much of a responsibility. These perceived issues have led a loving and happy dog to be constantly overlooked. Five months is a very long time for a dog to be without a family, and it pains the KHS staff and volunteers to see Baby waiting - especially when she plays with her toys quietly in her room, invites the staff to play tug with her, or eagerly waits for someone to teach her new hand signals. Baby is such a favorite that three people have come forward to sponsor her adoption fee.
