From the YouTube video description: Another boring stupid Cop Watch video by Alex Libman. Nothing exciting here - no one gets arrested, etc. But videos like these help keep the police honest, and reduce their inclination to aggressively pursue the things that dont need to be pursued. Please video record the police whenever they are about to harass the homeless or anyone else for victimless so-called crimes. If a fat slow bum like me can do it, then so can you! I just woke up like a minute before I needed to start recording, and Im definitely not a morning person... The video begins with cops knocking on another Tent City residents door, likely to threaten or possibly enforce eviction. As soon as they see me recording, they seem to change their plans and leave. They actually say something like: were not going to do anything while hes recording! I follow them for about 3 minutes, and they respectfully ask that I dont record their private phone conversations. Remember, the police have always been snooping through Tent City freely, entering tents without permission, destroying possessions, etc. A few days ago I woke up to a cop inside my tent, unzipping the bedroom door. There is a Reasonable Expectation of Privacy inside your home, but not outdoors on so-called public land, or a so-called public side-walk. So, after pondering this for a few seconds, I decide to continue filming, and finally stutter out: I respectfully ask that you dont harass homeless people on public land. This of course violates the #1 rule of recording the police: REMAIN SILENT AT ALL TIMES! It is a good rule to follow; one violates it at ones own risk. Of course the cop gets in my face and tries to twist my words against me, as he is trained to do, but without much logical success. For some reason he assumes that I am the only homeless person at Tent City, and that history only began today... Police officers arent chosen for their intelligence - in fact they wont hire you if your IQ is even moderately high, lest you might begin questioning orders... ~~~ Recorded by Alex Libman at around 8:20am, June 3rd, 2014, at Tent City of Lakewood, NJ, by the intersection of Cedar Bridge Ave and S Clover St. Please join us at this location any time you can this week for a Rally Against Injustice At Tent City! We are protesting unconstitutional and inhumane anti-homeless laws, government waste and corruption, and the bulldozing of a much-needed charitable institution! Bring a token donation (ideally bottled water) in case the police question you, as it has been legally established that supporters are NOT trespassing when they bring donations to Tent City. Please make and bring your own protest signs. Try to have a camera to take photos and videos of the events. If you are really brave, bring a tent.
