From the day we first met Brian Tully at a Webster Hall show a few years ago, we knew this guy was something special. He had a unique enthusiasm for life, a refreshing honesty, and an inspiring optimistic energy about him. He saw the best in people. He saw people for who they really were. Most of all, he gave so much and so freely to others without asking for anything in return. Our friendship has only grown over the years and he has never ceased to amaze us with his creativity and friendship. This, however, truly takes the cake. Earlier this week, I was wrestling with some of the greatest doubts about our efforts with this band. Yes--I have them too, and at times they can be rather debilitating and self-defeating. This one was quite a bout. That very evening I received a note from Brian that he had made this video for someone in his family that needed to hear the message in our song. Just halfway through watching it, my wife and I were both in tears. I called him to thank him and tell him that this was truly the greatest thing Ive ever seen. That I am utterly speechless and grateful to him beyond all words. And that if this, THIS, was our one accomplishment as a band that every single effort, every single heartbreak and disappointment would have been a million times worth it. I think he reminds us all: the best is yet to come. We believe in you. Thank you, Brian Tully. Your family is in our thoughts and were so incredibly grateful that this song helped you guys in some way.
