We woke up today to the sad news of the death of one of the most respected & influential Emir of Northern Nigeria, the Emir of Kano,Hajj Ado Abdullahi Bayero[1931-2014 CE]. The late Emir of Kano was an epitome of tolerance, peaceful coexistence and respect for the sanctity of human lives. He always preached tolerance among the Islamic groups in his domain which is the largest in Northern Nigeria with an estimated population of more than 10 million. Some years back, his fouth wife wrote a commendable book on Sayyeda Fatima al-Zahra(as) & he was peronally present at the book launch. Our condolences to all members of his family, the entire Kano Emirate, the Nigerian Muslim Ummah & the Nigerian nation for this great loss & may Allah in His infinite mercy forgive his mistakes & grant him eternal rest.
