From the lovely Mandy- QUICK KNIT POPPY PATTERN Takes 15 minutes Using 5.5mm needles and Aran yarn FOR POPPY Cast on 40sts in red. Row 1 = K8, P2, repeat to end. Row 2 = K2, P8, repeat to end. Row 3 = K8, P2, repeat to end Row 4 = K2, P8, repeat to end Row 5 = K2tog to end (20sts) Row 6 = Join black yarn P2tog to end (10sts) Row 7 = K2tog to end (5sts) Row 8 = Cast off purlwise. Form circle and sew seam FOR LEAF Cast on 5sts in green Row 1 = Knit to end Row 2 = All even rows are purl to end Row 3 = K1, M1, K3, M1, K1 (7sts) Row 5 = K1, M1, K5, M1, K1 (9sts) Row 7 and 9 = Knit to end Row 11 = K2tog, K5, K2tog (7sts) Row 13 = K2tog, K3, K2tog (5sts) Row 15 = K2tog, K1, K2tog (3sts) Row 16 = P3tog. Fasten off, sew in ends Attach leaf to poppy and sew on brooch pin. You can change petals by using 1x1 or 2x2 rib.
